For FE colleges, sixth forms & tutorial leads
Money lessons your learners ask to play again.
A five-minute tutorial starter, or a full session on payslips, phone contracts, renting and scams. BudgetUp is built for 16+ learners, with no ads, no chat and no gambling-style mechanics. Your safeguarding lead will be happy too.
Safe for 16+ learnersTutorial time is tight. Money worries aren't.
Learners are starting part-time jobs, phone contracts and first tenancies, and money comes up in the personal development curriculum. Slides and worksheets rarely survive contact with a Friday afternoon tutorial.
5 min
is all a level takes, so it works as a tutorial starter, a cover lesson or something learners do on the bus home.
16–17
year-olds are covered by the ICO Children's Code, so any tool you use needs high-privacy defaults and no nudges or profiling.
Evidence
for Ofsted's personal development judgement and your governors is hard to get from a worksheet. A before/after check makes it easy.
How it works in a college
Hand out a code
One code per campus, course or tutor group, or sign-in with Microsoft Entra ID or Google and launch from your VLE with LTI 1.3.
Play in tutorial or at home
Works on any phone or college PC. Classic mode covers older devices, and nothing needs installing.
Show the change
A short confidence and wellbeing check at the start and after six weeks, reported by group with small numbers suppressed.
What you get
We label everything honestly. "Available now" means it's built, tested and ready for a pilot today. "Rolling out" means it's in build for 2026/27; "on the roadmap" means later. Neither is promised as a day-one feature.

Questions buyers ask
Is it suitable for 16 and 17-year-olds?
Yes, that's who it's built for. Content passes a tone check (safe to show in class, never punching down), there's no chat or user-generated content, and our under-18 mode follows the ICO Children's Code. We complete a DPIA with every FE college.
Does it teach investing or crypto?
We teach investing basics as education only, using fictional companies and rewarding patience and diversification. Crypto, trading and gambling appear only as warnings and scam awareness, never as skills.
Can learners with SEND use it?
We build to WCAG 2.2 AA: keyboard play, reduced motion, sound off by default and colour never the only signal. Classic mode offers a non-3D alternative. See our accessibility statement for known issues.
What does it cost?
Learners are always free. Colleges pay an annual licence sized to learner numbers; book a pilot chat and we'll send a written quote. Prices sit below most procurement thresholds.
Doing due diligence? Our trust centre has hosting, sub-processors, accessibility and security details.
