Delete your BudgetUp account
Delete it yourself (fastest)
- Sign in to BudgetUp in the app or at budgetup.uk/settings.
- Open Settings, then Your data and account.
- Optional: tap Download my data first if you want a copy.
- Tap Delete my account and confirm.
Your account is deleted straight away, you are signed out on every device, and we email you a confirmation. Anyone of any age can do this.
Can't sign in?
Email [email protected] from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We reply within one month, usually much sooner. If your access came from a university, college, council or employer code, we may ask a question to confirm it's your account.
Delete some of your data and keep your account
- Ask Nana chats: tap Delete my chats in the chat panel. (Chats are deleted automatically after 90 days anyway.)
- Campus drive votes: Settings, then Where you study, then Remove or Remove all.
- Email reminders: turn them off in Settings, or use the link in any reminder email.
- Equality information: Settings, then Research and support, then Withdraw and delete.
- Check-in answers or anything else: email [email protected] and tell us what to delete.
What we delete
- Your profile, email address, names and age range
- Your progress, XP, streaks, badges, saves and home base
- Check-in answers and any equality information
- Ask Nana chats, reminders, settings and campus votes
Backups that still contain it roll off within 35 days.
What we keep, and for how long
- Anonymised totals that can't identify you (like "40 people finished budgeting").
- Billing records, only if you bought Plus: 6 years after the financial year ends, because tax law requires it. No progress or answers.
- Our security audit log, which holds an account number but never your name or email, and a record that the deletion happened.
More detail is in our privacy notice.
